It's OFFICIAL!! On Monday May 4th, the Lakota Board of Education voted 4-1 to approve the installation of artificial turf at Lakota East and West High Schools. This is a tremendous outcome for the entire West Chester and Liberty Township community and one that many have worked hard to achieve. And remember, FIELDS is a key partner with the district to ensure that this project can be done without additional taxpayer dollars, so there is still a lot of work to be done. The Bid Package has been APPROVED!! On Monday March 9th, the Lakota School Board approved the bid package for release! The official Advertisement for Bid is below. Given this schedule, approval of the bid and the final approval of the project should be on the April 27th board agenda.
Advertisement for Bid Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Education of the Lakota Local Schools until 2:00 pm on Friday, April 3, 2009 for construction of (2) Synthetic Turf Fields. One of the fields is located at Lakota East High School, 6840 Lakota Lane, Liberty Township, Ohio 45044 and the other is located at Lakota West High School, 8940 Union Centre Blvd., West Chester, Ohio 45069. Sealed bids shall be delivered to the Treasurer’s Office, located at the Central Office: Lakota Local Schools, 5572 Princeton Road, Liberty Township, Ohio 45011-9726. The bids will be publicly opened and read. The contract probable cost for the base bid construction contract is $1,750,000. Bids shall include all labor, materials, equipment, special tools, and services required to complete the work in accordance with the contract documents. Plans and specifications for the Project may be examined at the Architect’s Office or at area Plan Rooms. Bidders may purchase copies of the Contract Documents from Wagner Repro & Supply, 1663 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45214, phone; (513) 621-6575. Each proposal shall contain the name of every person interested therein. Each proposal shall meet the regulations of Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including add alternates) or a certified check, cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid amount (including add alternates), in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Lakota Local Schools, Board of Education reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such review as necessary to determine the responsibility of any bidder submitting a bid for the Project.
